Reviews & Testimonials
“
I loved reading through this book with baby girl. This is the type of book that is needed in school libraries, accessible to children to learn about others with disabilities.
“
Amanda read her book 'TJ and his Wheelable Chair to our first classes and had a question and answer session afterwards. The session stimulated great discussion and had a great impact on the children

Amanda read her beautiful book TJ and his Wheelable Chair to each of the classes and then the children asked questions about TJ and his life and also about being a writer and published author. Amanda inspired the children and advised them to always persevere and never give up on their dreams

BIO

TJ is the inspiration behind both my books and I am constantly learning from him every single day. TJ was born with both an intellectual and physical disability - what that means for him is that he needs a little extra help along the way. TJ may not use words to communicate but he talks to us through expression, body language and emotion. Both books were written from TJ's perspective to help the reader see the world from his point of view.
We have been on an incredible journey over the past number of years and have met some wonderful people through book readings at schools, libraries and book festivals. TJ and his Wheelable Chair was a finalist in The People's Book Prize UK 2019 and both books have won a Story Monsters Seal of Approval and Honourable Mention in the Purple Dragonfly Awards 2021. We hope you enjoy reading our books and sharing our story.
